Primary Responsibilities

The market leader/external wholesaler serve as the key contact between BlackRock and our financial intermediary clients and financial advisors and is responsible for all aspects of the client relationship and for driving sales through multiple channels, including RIAs, Independents and Wirehouse firms. The Market Leader will deliver expertise to Financial Advisors, collaborating with other sales professionals to develop deep relationships and drive results across the entire breadth of BlackRock's solutions (ETF, Mutual Funds, SMA, Alternatives, Models). The geography for this position is primarily New York, but extends to other cities in the Northeast like Toronto, Boston, Chicago  and Washington D.C.

  • Lead the market. Develop deep relationships across all aspects of a Financial Advisor’s business across a territory.
  • Be consultative business partners to help advisors navigate markets, portfolio, business issues, etc.
  • Drive sales across the full spectrum of BlackRock investment solutions (Alts, Mutuals Funds, ETFs, SMAs, Risk Management) by developing, maintaining and growing relationships with new and excising financial advisors.
  • Embrace data-driven client tiering and the BlackRock sales process to drive deeper relationships with the largest and fastest growing firms and advisors
  • Build an efficient and thoughtful territory strategy to ensure consistent engagement and influence.
  • Drive sales through mastery of BlackRock investment solutions, including Alternatives, Mutual Funds, ETFs, SMAs, and portfolio solutions.

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in finance, business or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a business development/sales role focusing on asset management or wealth management.
  • Strong territory management skills, including profiling and resource deployment.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability and track record for delivering results.
  • Strong financial services background with knowledge of investment rends and advisor practices
  • Outstanding ability to articulate ideas/strategies clearly, both verbally and written.
  • Series 7/66 and licenses required.
  • Clean U-4.
  • Fluent in English, and proficiency in Spanish highly preferred.


 

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $137,500 - $194,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
